The Pickles have teamed up with Cycling Frog, a Seattle-based company known for its hemp-based edibles, including THC drinks. Starting June 18th, baseball fans will be able to crack open two flavors of Cycling Frog THC Light Seltzer—passionfruit and lemon—while enjoying the game at Walker Stadium. Forget peanuts and Cracker Jack, this season it’s all about the seltzer buzz.
Each can packs 2 mg of THC and 4 mg of CBD, which means fans can relax and enjoy the game without getting too, well, outfield. These seltzers are the first-ever THC beverages sold legally at any sports venue. The Pickles aren’t just selling drinks—they’re making history.
“For the first time ever, a sports team will sell hemp-derived THC products at a live sporting event, establishing the Portland Pickles as pioneers in the field and setting a significant precedent for the federal legalization movement,” the team proudly announced in a press release. That’s right, folks, the Pickles are now trailblazers in more ways than one.
Oregon’s been cool with cannabis for a while now, but the Pickles still had to follow the Oregon Liquor and Cannabis Commission (OLCC) regulations to make this happen. After working closely with the OLCC and Portland Parks and Rec, they got the green light. And, naturally, these seltzers are only available to fans aged 21 and up. So, if you’re of age, you’ll be able to grab a cold THC seltzer at The Jack Daniels Party Deck Bar, Dillon’s Hideaway Bar, or a third location inside the stadium gates.
Cycling Frog is pretty stoked about this partnership too. “We’re thrilled to be making history with The Portland Pickles. At Cycling Frog, we believe cannabis consumption should be normalized, accessible, and fun! What could be more normal than going to a baseball game and cheering for your local team?” they said in their press release. You know, just your everyday baseball game—with a twist of THC.
The Pickles are all about creating unforgettable experiences for their fans, and this latest move shows their commitment to both fun and forward-thinking. As they put it, the partnership “underscores the Portland Pickles’ dedication to providing unforgettable experiences for their fans while championing progressive movements in the industry.”
Games typically start at 7:05 PM Monday through Saturday, and 6:05 PM on Sundays, with the season running through August. So, if you’re looking to catch some baseball and try something new, you know where to go. Go Pickles!
