Adidas and Wotherspoon have worked together before on his first Superstar back in 2020. A collaboration that puts environmentally friendly materials front and centre, the duo have experimented with everything from vegan leathers to laces made from recycled paper.
He made the announcement on his Instagram page. Hemp in sneakers isn’t new. Over the last years alone, some of the biggest players in the space have used the cannabis plant fibre in popular pairs.
Wotherspoon’s next adidas Originals style features an intricately woven hemp upper animated by white and green colours. Vegan leather lands around the tongue and make up the 3-Stripes on the sides. A hit of orange appears on the heel. Below, the sole unit takes on a semi-translucent gum brown finish.
